Mission Statement of the Colorado Toy Train Foundation

 The Colorado Toy Train Foundation is dedicated to providing an educational experience to the public encompassing the history of toy and model trains and operation of toy trains while promoting the hobby of toy train collection and operation.

· It will be the mission of the Foundation to document the evolution and colorful history of toy train manufacturing and marketing.

· The Foundation will both display and actively operate a wide variety of toy and model trains in various gauges and scales for the enjoyment and enlightenment of the general public.

· The Foundation will provide education to the public regarding collecting and operating toy trains through periodic seminars and demonstrations.

· The Foundation will teach model railroading basic skills including: design of train layouts, construction of model railroad benchwork, electrical wiring techniques, creation of realistically-modeled scenic terrain and miniature structure building with a special emphasis on youthful enthusiasts.
